1. Services

Done The Write Way is a real-time service that gives clients professional copy editing, proofreading, ghost writing, and critique partnership services by humans.

When sending content to Done The Write Way, you pay a flat fee based on the word count of your document. You can purchase these services through Donethewriteway.com by adding the items in your cart.

Copy editors work from a standardized set of guidelines to ensure high-quality work. A copy editor attempts to prevent inconsistencies in the overall content of the document and helps the writer achieve a more concise finished product.

Any reworded or updated content created by the copy editor as part of the copy editing process will become the copyright of the client.

Done The Write Way also provides proofreading services.

Proofreading involves correcting spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, incorrect punctuation marks, and lack of consistency in the text style such as fonts, highlighting (bold and italics), spacing, underscores, etc.

The process of proofreading does not involve re-writing or changing the form in which the document has been written. If you want more in-depth editing, you should consider purchasing copy editing.

Done The Write Way also provides ghost writing services.

Ghost writers are writers for hire who take no credit for the work produced. Any reworded or updated content created by the staff as part of the ghost writing process will become the copyright of the client.

Done The Write Way charges $40.00 an hour for ghost writing services. These include rewriting documents or creating new material. The ghost writer always follows the guidelines and wishes of the client.

To pay the ghost writer hourly rate, Done The Write Way uses Pay Pal as a third party to process transactions and create invoices.

Done The Write Way also provides critique partnership services.

Unlike beta readers, critique partners are fellow writers. Critique partners find weaknesses in the overall content such as plot holes, poor character development, repetition, slow story progression, and more.

This service does NOT include proofreading or copy editing. When you have a critique partnership with Done The Write Way, the staff reads your work thoroughly and adds comments throughout the document. You will also receive a comprehensive page about their overall thoughts on the finished work.

The pricing for this service varies on word count, quality of the document presented (if it’s been edited yet), genre, and more. Pricing is subject to Done The Write Way’s preferences. The client may refuse service if the price point does not match their budget.

To pay the critique partnership rate, Done The Write Way uses Pay Pal as a third party to process transactions and create invoices.

Ghost writing and critique partnership services are paid through PayPal and are subject to transfer fees.

Clients have three days from the order fulfillment to evaluate the quality of work provided. If the work is not satisfactory, copy editors/ghost writers/critique partners will consider a free re-order at their discretion.

3. Funds and refunds

Refunds are available for unique occurrences and are at the discretion of Done The Write Way.

Done The Write Way does not offer refunds three days after the order has been fulfilled if the client does not contact Done The Write Way within that timeframe.

Refunds are subject to the client’s method of payment. Each refund traditionally takes 1-3 business days to process. If the refund has not processed after this time, contact khutson@donethewriteway.com.

4. Proofreading

Proofreading involves correcting spelling mistakes, grammatical errors, incorrect punctuation marks, and lack of consistency in the text style such as fonts, highlighting (bold and italics), spacing, underscores, etc.

As a proofreader, my job is to read each document and check for consistency and overall layout of the information. Proofreading mainly focuses on ensuring that nothing has been missed during the copy editing process. Authors also use a proofreader to polish their finished product.

The process of proofreading does not involve re-writing or changing the form in which the document has been written. If you want more in-depth editing, you should consider purchasing copy editing.

Hiring a proofreader is particularly helpful if English is not your native language. Proofreading smooths out language errors, formatting issues, missing words, typos, punctuation errors, spelling, and formatting inconsistencies that can be difficult to notice if English is not your first language.

5. Copy editing

Copy editing is more detailed than proofreading. Not only are spelling and grammatical issues corrected, but copy editing also ensures the quality and readability of each document.

A copy editor also attempts to prevent inconsistencies in the overall content of the document and helps the writer achieve a more concise finished product.

This high level of editing is essential for anyone looking for more attention to their work. This includes authors, graphic designers, business owners, etc.

6. Resumes

Resumes are important documents that require a high level of attention. Before you step foot into an interview, it’s essential to have a skilled editor examine your resume to showcase your skills properly.

This service provides proofreading, copy editing, and formatting to give your resume a unique appearance and strong content.

7. Ghost Writing

Ghost writers are writers for hire who take no credit for the work produced. Individuals and companies may choose to hire a ghost writer for freelance work to produce copy for various projects. These include product copy, office proposals, blog posts, comment pieces, website articles, novels, advertisements, and more.

Done The Write Way charges $40.00 an hour for ghost writing. You may ask Done The Write Way to rewrite documents to achieve a specific tone, or create something from scratch with guidelines. Depending on how much information is given, the timeframe of the finished product will vary.

Ghost writers are often hired to write books for clients. In these cases, the author of the book is credited for the work while the ghost writer remains anonymous. Sometimes the author may want to share some of the credit with the ghost writer, in which case a non-disclosure agreement will be signed.

Please email khutson@donethewriteway.com for more information.

8. Critique Partnership

Many authors seek out beta readers to give them insight into their work from an average reader’s perspective. While helpful to the editing process, many authors may find that their work could use more attention.

Unlike beta readers, critique partners are fellow writers. Critique partners find weaknesses in the overall content such as plot holes, poor character development, repetition, slow story progression, and more.

This service does NOT include proofreading or copy editing. When you have a critique partnership with Done The Write Way, staff reads your work thoroughly and adds comments throughout the document. You will also receive a comprehensive page of overall thoughts on your finished work.

The pricing for this service varies on word count, quality of the document presented (if it’s been edited yet), genre, and more. Please email khutson@donethewriteway.com for more information.

9. Delivery and deadlines

All dates and times provided for the delivery of the content are approximate, and based on previous orders of the same size. Done The Write Way cannot be held liable for any loss or damage caused by a later delivery time than the approximate one.

Delivery times are given during email correspondence between khutson@donethewriteway.com and the client. The client is not required to purchase the service is the timeframe does not fit their criteria.

10. The copy editor/proofreader/ghost writer/critique partner has the right to refuse work

Upon acceptance of the text, the copy editor/proofreader/ghost writer/critique partner has the right to refuse the job if it does not meet set Done The Write Way standards. This also includes if the assigned copy editor/proofreader/ghost writer/critique partner is unable to fulfill the order for personal or professional reasons. If the copy editor/proofreader/ghost writer/critique partner refuses the job, you will be notified via email and your payment reimbursed.

11. The client’s right to refuse work

When Done The Write Way has completed a paid project for you, the client, you have three days from the next business day to evaluate, accept, or claim a re-edit. If you fail to do so, you are deemed to have accepted the work.

If you do not accept the work, you can claim a re-edit, stating your explicit reasons for doing so. When claiming a re-edit, you must make no changes to the content sent back from Done The Write Way. You must also address any notes and comments from the copy editor/proofreader/ghost writer/critique partner. If you fail to provide a reason for your refusal of edited text, you are deemed to have accepted the work.

If you claim a re-edit, the copy editor/proofreader/ghost writer/critique partner will do the re-edit at no extra cost to you.
